I'm having a hard time staying motivated these days. It used to be so easy, but lately I've been feeling kind of blah. It's okay to rest a bit though, right? That's what I'm calling it. I'm not lazy. I'm just resting.
Well, I finally got around to scanning in all of the tintypes that I made while I was at Penland. I still need to color balance the other tintypes, and as soon as I do, I will share them with you all. For now, I've got this one to share. The self portrait (above) is the very first tintype that I made. One of my instructors, Melitte Buchman, was the photo technician. She assisted with focusing and exposing the plate, but the collodion pour and developing was all done by me! Isn't it wild how you can barely see my tattoos? Color pigments translate differently through the wet plate collodion process. Pretty neat, don't ya think?
I'm going to do my best to stay on top of things this week! Wish me luck!
