Opened Up My Eyes

Cardigan: Forever21
Dress: thrifted
Belt: thrifted
Tights: Express
Boots: thrifted
Necklace: Etsy (Beadix)

Jayare and I had a wonderful anniversary yesterday. Thank you to everyone for your kind words! Today, I'm sharing an outfit that I wore to work last week. I thrifted this dress from Goodwill, but it's originally from Dress Barn, which I think is totally awesome! I have never set foot inside of Dress Barn. I just think think that it's really cool that I can thrift things that are originally from places that I don't typically (or in this case, ever) shop at.

I hardly ever pay attention to labels when I'm thrifting, unless of course, I'm shopping for Superstition Vintage. But really though, just in the last year I've noticed that I thrift so many things that were originally from Wal-Mart, K-Mart or just a random store at the mall that I never shop at. I'm not saying that I'm going to start shopping at these places, because let's be honest, I don't really shop anywhere for clothes besides thrift stores. I'm just saying that it's really opened up my eyes to see that labels don't matter to me - at all! I just like what looks good and makes me feel good.

  4. This is a lovely outfit and I do find it interesting to see in the end where thrifted items were originally from. I'd never thought too much about it before.

  5. it's so true. in thrifting, we're really able to focus on how a certain piece fits us, compliments our shape, and makes us feel pretty-and all in the name of sustainable and affordable living. brand names don't have the same weight that they do in the rest of capitalist america. i love it. and i loveee this outfit!
