Get Over It

Dress: vintage
Vest: thrifted
Tights: gift from a friend
Shoes: thrifted
Coat: hand me down

I mentioned on Instagram that I want to try to be more courageous and start taking my outfit photos in public places. After reading Katherine's post "of letting go", I felt super inspired. Last summer, I found myself getting disappointed with my photographs because most of them were taken in my boring carport. There are so many beautiful places to take photographs in Phoenix (and the other surrounding cities) so why am I hiding under my carport? I, like many other bloggers, feel really silly taking photographs of my outfit when other people can see exactly what I'm doing. When, in all actuality, the only silly part is worrying about what other people think. What's the point? I've overcome many obstacles in my life and this is one more thing that I just need to get over. I think that my blog will benefit from this, and hopefully my readers will appreciate it too!! Thank you, Katherine, for being so confident and such and inspiration. You rock!

With that being said, I took these photographs in a very public place. These photographs were taken on campus. In my opinion, ASU has a very beautiful campus. I'm going to make it a goal to take more photographs on campus to show you all how beautiful it really is. So here ya go! I wore this outfit to work last week when it was super cold. See the snow in the last photo??!! Just kidding! It doesn't snow in Phoenix. I'm pretty sure that was just irrigation that froze over. I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

  1. such an adorable look!
and yes, i know what you mean about being more courageous about public photos. i'm so awkward in front of the camera and often wimp out and do my photos indoors. but now that i'm back in nyc i want to start venturing out more for photos...well, once it is a little warmer anyway...

  2. I'm proud of you :)

I have always felt self-conscious taking photos in public too, but now you're inspiring me to get over it. So maybe a few outfit posts will be in my blog's future :)

  5. A big fear of mine as well! (Your not the only one!!) Where I live there's giant wonderful parks, and rivers, and bridges, and everything in-between! It IS silly to care what people think! Haha. I always try to tell myself 'Your a celebrity....An online celebrity!!' Makes things a bit better, but I'm definitely still awkward taking pictures in public places as well. :(

  6. I read that post also. I am going to take her advise as well. We did take my outfit photos last week at the park but only one couple walked by. Lol I don't know if that counts or not.
