Emu Photoshoot

I had an amazing time visiting Tony last week. He and I met shortly after I moved to Arizona. This was during a time in my life when I was really struggling, emotionally. He was my shoulder to cry on when I was going through a really tough time in my life. Long story short: About a week after my 21st birthday, I married my high school sweetheart. Things didn't work out (it's a little more complicated than that, but I'll save the long story for another time). I got divorced about a year and a half later. I was young and naive.

Now that I'm happily married, in a healthy relationship with my best friend, I understand how great and rewarding a healthy marriage can be. I never had that with my previous marriage. I wish Jayare could have come with me to visit Tony, but Damien had school and it was easier for me to go alone to pick up my brother and his wife (who arrived to L.A. last Wednesday).

Button up: H&M
Bowtie: Macy's
Blazer: Nordstrom's
Pants: Bonobos.com

Tony is super stylish. He and I have an inside joke where we call each other Emu, in case you were wondering what the hell the title of this post was referring to. We had an Emu Photoshoot right outside of the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles. AND I finally got the chance to wear my new cape that I got from Amanda of Salvaged Strawberry (Thanks so much, girl! I love it so much!!).

Blouse: swapped
Cape: gift (from Amanda of Salvaged Strawberry)
Cardigan: H&M
Skirt: vintage
Tights: target
Shoes: vintage

After visiting the Natural History Museum, we headed over to Venice Beach. On our way there, we drove by this really strange CVS. I guess it's just art, right? Anyone know the story behind that CVS?

I'll share some photographs of the exhibits from the Natural History Museum soon. Have a great Thursday!

  5. aww you look adorable in that fun skirt and beautiful cape and Tony sure is stylish indeed! this photoshoot with you two is seriously so fun and cute. That really must have been a tough time but glad you had a great friend for support. I always wished to have had serious relationships when I was younger but in the end I was young and dumb too and so lucky to meet Jonny instead.

  8. You know what? I know this giant strange clown statue art thingy from an exhibition here in Germany two years ago! So yes it's just art, but it looks really funny over the pharmacy :) However I can't remember the artist or meaning of it.

The Emu photos are lovely, you both look very chic! I especially love your cape and his orange pants! :)
