Blending In

Cardigan: hand-me-down
Blouse: vintage (swapped at Exchange Your Habit)
Skirt: thrifted
Belt: thrifted
Purse: vintage
Clogs: gift from my mama

I wore this outfit to work yesterday not knowing where I'd take these outfit photos. After deciding that I wanted to try out Desert Roots Kitchen (a new-ish vegan restaurant on Mill) for the second time, I discovered this lovely entryway that just so happened to match what I was wearing. I kind of blend in, don't you agree? I have photos from my lunch adventure that I plan on sharing with you all next week. I think this place is going to be my new favorite lunch spot!

I'm trying to branch out and take more photographs in different places, but it's kind of hard with so many people around (and kind of embarrassing!!). People will walk by or just stand around and watch me and ask what I'm taking photos of. Um...myself? Sometimes I'll tell people that I'm taking photos for a school project (even though I'm no longer in school). It's easier than trying to explain that I have a style blog, which just leads to more questions when all I want to do is to hurry and take some quick photos on my lunch break!

Who's planning on going to the Clothing Swap this Sunday? I hope to see some familiar faces! I'd love to meet some new friends, too. Don't be shy! Say hi to me, if you end up making it this Sunday!

  2. That purse and skirt are so pretty! I've thought about taking pics elsewhere, but I just can't do it! I would be so scared of people just staring at me, and even at home in my own backyard I feel so awkward that I have to take about 100 pics on a timer and only about 3-5 of them usually turn out somewhat decent :/ (it doesn't help that my husband totally makes fun of me!;)

  5. I love that skirt, Adrian! I have been majorly slacking on my outfit photos recently, and that's mainly because I only have three locations where I don't run in to too many people. Time to get a little braver in the outfit photo department, haha.

    1. I feel ya! I think I'm going to try to just suck it up and try not to care or be embarrassed anymore! We'll see how that goes...

  6. I've always wondered what I'd say if someone asked why I was taking pictures. I love your style shoots and I'm glad you take photos of your outfits.

  7. What a perfect fall outfit!! I love that skirt & so great w/ the blouse & cardi. and, you are brave! I know exactly which entryway that is haha and it's def highly trafficked in front of. i'm really impressed in general because that embarrasses me so much and esp all the great angles you got!

  9. Ha that's so true about people staring during photo shoots. I guess after a while style bloggers learn to just ignore them. (I wouldn't know since I have an illustration blog, but I'm guessing.)

Also great outfit. Never realized how cute the preppy look could be when accessorized with ink sleeves.

  10. I use the art project excuse every time someone comes up and questions me while I'm taking photos, personal style blogger usually leads to some weird looks. You look lovely, hope you had a great weekend xo

  12. Very cute outfit. I love the shoes. I haven't done to many public outfit posts yet. I want to, but people are so strange in Cheyenne. LOL I wore green skinny jeans to Hobby Lobby Saturday and everyone was staring at me. If you don't wear wranglers or cowboy boots you stand out! ;)

    1. It is hard! The only shaded area around my house is my carport and I'm sick of looking at my carport in the background of all of my photos! You photos look nice in your front and back yard. I wish my yard looked nicer!! :/
